Thousands of Britons were welcomed into over 80 mosques across the country on Sunday 7 February, as part of the second annual ‘Visit My Mosque’ Day.

Mosques across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland invited in neighbours to share tea and refreshments, alongside an insight into the day-to-day goings on of a busy Muslim centre of worship.

Women on child trafficking charge to remain in custody for five more days

Tharaka-Nithi court has granted police an additional five days to investigate two women arrested on suspicion of being involved in human trafficking.

Chuka Senior Principal Magistrate Alfred Kibiru granted the application Monday.

The District is partnering with a federal campaign to raise awareness about human trafficking and diminish its presence in the area.

WASHINGTON — The District is partnering with the Department of Homeland Security’s Blue Campaign to raise awareness about human trafficking and diminish its presence in the area.

The partnership, announced Monday at the new offices for D.C.’s Office of Human Rights, brings resources to the city including training for everyone from bus drivers to police officers and workers at the Department of Motor Vehicles. Congress is in an intense debate over trade bills that will shape the course of the US economy for decades. Much of this debate has been characterized as a fight over whether international trade itself creates or destroys American jobs. There is, however, another major concern — that modern “trade” agreements are often less about trade and more about giant multinational corporations finding new ways to rig the economic system to benefit themselves. Hillary Clinton has said that the “United States should be advocating a level and fair playing field, not special favors” for big business, in our trade deals.
